The report is based on a study commissioned by the University of Bergen in the period of August 2010- February 2011.
The aim of the study was to map out the following:
• future needs for education and competence, at the regional and national level and both on a short time perspective and within the next 10-15 years.
• the labour market's knowledge and evaluation of the candidates and the education offered at the university, as well as the tools used by the university to promote these candidates and their skills.
• the university candidates' and employees' own evaluation of their competence and skills, and their possibilities on the labour market.
We conducted qualitative interviews and two quantitative surveys, one of the labour market, and one of the employees of the university. In addition, the study includes analyses of public statistics and a reanalysis of the "Candidate Survey" from the Career Center of the University of Bergen.
